Hendrick Hopsice Care provides the highest quality care to patients with a life threatening illness regardless of their ability to pay. Hendrick hospice care povides services to patients in the private home setting, long term care facilities, nursing facilities and the hospital. We service Abilene and the Texas Midwest. Our services also include an inpatient unit.

We provide a full range of hospice servises including: Physicians, Nursing Care, Home health adides, Social services, Volunteer services, Pastoral counseling, Bereavement care, Symptom management, Palliative care, Dietary assistance Durable medical equipment, Medical supplies, Pharmacy services, Physical, occupational & speech therapy, Respite Care.

A mult-disciplinary team ensures each patient's hospice and palliative needs are met. The team consists of: Primary Physician, Medical Director, Case Manager, Soical Worker, Licensed Staff Nurses, Cerified Nurse Aides, Beravement Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Chaplains Volunteers.

The team members combine special knowledge and skills to help the patient live each day as fully as possible. Our expertise is in end-of-life care.

For those living with a life threatening illness, we can provide the care necessary for physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, either at home or in a home-like setting. We are here for you and your family because all of life's stages are important - some just require extra attention.

We offer patients the freedom to remain in their own home with their family or in a home like environment. Hendrick Hospice Care is and has bee your palliative care provider, serving Abilene and the Texas Midwest since 1983.


VOLUNTEERS   

Volunteers: The Heart of Hospice. Hospice volunteers are special people. One thing all hospice volunteers have in common is a true desire to help. Volunteers serve in many ways: listen to concerns, keep the patient and family company, provide a link to hospice staff, be a support person or possibly run errands. There are no special skills needed except a caring heart and willingness to serve others. While paetient care is not for everyone, volunteers also help out behind the scenes by typing, raising money, answering phones and serving on committees. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age with a willingness to minister to patients and their families. Hospice volunteers must attend a 27 hour training program.


DONATIONS  

Hendrick Hospice Care is a not-for-profit organization. We provide servieces regardless of the ability to pay. It takes money to organize and operate a hospice program. Contributions are received from individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations. Memorial gifts and donations from Hospice patients' fmilies and friends help in attaining the goal of allowing patients to live with dignity and comfort. Hendrick Hospice Care is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. Your memorial gift or donation makes our services avilable for the benefit of other families.


OTHER   

Hendrick Hopsice Care also provides community based programs. Rainbows is one such program which helps children deal with a loss from divorce or death. Rainbows is a international program that provides children with the opportunity to receive special attention while learning to cope with loss. Grieving children often struggle to identify and express the confusing emotions of gref. Rainbows is offered twice a year for ages kindergarten through twefth grade and groups are led by trained, adult volunteers.

Camp Courage - The first of its kind in the area, this camp is for children who have suffered the loss of a loved one from death or divorce. The camp is open to children in first through twelfth grades. It is a three-day and two-night camp offered in the summer. this special retreat is an extension of the Rainbows program.

Other community-based programs offered through Hendrick Hospice Care include: Bereavement servieces, Educational programs, Speakers bureau a resource library, Volunteer opportunities.
