Grateful to Hospice E-mail

I just wanted to write and say that I'm truly grateful to Hospice, who was there for my family and me when my father and mother were dying.  My first experience with Hospice was when my father was being treated for lung cancer, and the doctor told him he had 6 months to live. That’s when Hospice came into the picture; they were very helpful and nice to all of us up until he passed away.

About 3 years ago we had another experience with Hospice when my mother was diagnosed with COPD and the doctor suggested Hospice.  Her team was excellent, her nurse Nancy was the nicest person I had met and she treated my mother like she was her own mother.  The Chaplin she had at the end was also great.  I met him after my mother had passed away. She kept telling me that I would love him, so two days after she passed, I set up a time for my family and me to meet with him.   From the time he stepped into the house, I felt that I had known him forever.  He was very interested in what we wanted in a service for her, and offered to preside at the service and said we could hold it at the Hospice House.  My family and I talked to him for a couple of hours about our mom and what she liked. My mom’s whole team called and asked if there was anything they could do for us. I could not believe that there are people out there that really care for other people and their families the way they do, and for that I am very grateful.  Without Hospice I do not know how I would have done the things that needed to be done for my mother.
